Dom- to be honest, you could’ve done A LOT MORE with this Video. It was very simple. I had really no feeling from 1997, that was from 2010. I LOVE the track, and the whole album. Im just a little disappointed with the creativity in this video. Shit, I have a ton of ideas for this video alone, I just thought it was…boring. I’ll be on the lookout for the next DK Video. Stay up and Good Luck…

Dom for a brother who is an independent artist this is a DAMN GOOD video my nigga,
it came on like a movie you doin ya thing fam i was hype when i seen the opening visuals
this trumps all the handheld camera videos alot of cats are shooting, thanks for this fam…
Well I guess some people’s parents never hipped them to the fact that if you don’t have nothing nice to say it’s much better not to say anything at all….I thought the video was cool man, nothing overdramatic, just a nicely done video that visually matches the tonal quality of the track. Beautiful. As long as you’re happy with it that’s all that matters, dude. One Love Dom……….
Well I was in 10th grade in 1997 and this video looks like, and feels like Mase &Puff’s video “Cant nobody hold me down” when they was drivin the bentleys in the desert. so with that said, Dom If that was your inspiration…i see your vision homie! if not thats cool to. Thanks for for the visuals

bout time Dom… in true Dom fashion you kept it simple and kept the money in your pocket. haha. like Jay said.. there’s a whole lot this video could have become, but. yea but. It is what it is. You live and learn, so keep it steady progressively. Your stock is rising mang….
See you soon….

This looks like Dom Kennedy version of “Cant Tell Me Nothin.”
But yea Dom Ima have to agree with Jay. This video could have been alot better with things that would have totally fit in with the budget.
I know your good at taking Constructive Criticism, so I hope you take this like Domino’s Pizza took their criticisms.
(Also I love the song, but its just the ending of every verse kind of got annoying (you know the “ehh” part). Could have been used less. But I still love the song and album. I have high hopes for next year. Your gonna make it.)

yap im a lil disappointed too. Dont get me wrong the music is smokin but like jay said the video could be way more innovative. Its all good tho you just did it the way you felt how it should be. Just givin some input ya dig

I agree with Jay, but I could also see the reason to go all out on the best received mixtape track. I mean I can’t stop comparing it to the u can’t tell me nothin vid, but honestly any excuse to listen to 1997 is dope. I’m just waiting for that deep, artistic ass video he’s gonna do for Locals Only, right Dom?? haha just playin
Dope video. It does kind of give you a Puff/Ma$e vibe from ‘97… wit a lil 2010 flava. Not the vibe I would have expected, but nonetheless DOPE. Personally, my 2nd favorite track from the tape (Still Me is my TOPS). Keep doin you, & JUST BE COOL!!
@KingLewie follow me on twitter… I put Mississippi on DK (remember that).

i love the video and thank it was simple to keep from being a distraction from the music itself not to flashy or over the top
who could be disappointed with the video? i dont get why you would!
I thought it was great, “less is more”. A lot of times videos that are have a lot going on can be distracting and takes attention away from the most part… THE SONG! The video was simple, sweet, and I listened to the song. I love it and the song. I cant wait for more
Loved the video. I think it’s a great backdrop to what should be in the forefront…the music. The visuals are crisp and minimal, which is cool when married with an unconventionally structured song…The combination does a great job of complimenting your style…Well done!
